MMLL: Mike McCartney's Liverpool Life
"A black and white world of Liverpool in the 60s, which, like the Wizard of Oz, could spring into rainbow colours at any time, by using your imagination. A unique world, and period in time..."
'Thank U Very Much'.
THROUGHOUT an extraordinary career Mike McCartney has had unrivalled access to some of the greatest rock 'n roll stars.
His work spotlights the adrenaline fuelled stage acts of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis to young music legends like Graham Nash of the Hollies, snoozing on a train, the Shadows, Jeff Beck and Georgie Fame amongst a long list of other famous faces and names.
The exhibition that tied in with this remarkable book was launched at the Museum of Alberta in 2002 and was one of the most popular at Washington's famous Smithonsonian Institution in the US capital in 2005. It also slated tour to Japan and Australia.
Mike is currently working on Mike McCartney's World which will see him focus his insightful and surreal eye on cities worldwide. The first of this new bold and exciting series will be Mike McCartney's Secret Wirral, planned for the Summer of 2007.
