Stephen Broadbent - Sculptor
This book profiles and captures the first decade of Stephen Broadbent - who studied with the truly remarkable and irreverent Arthur Dooley. It traces his career as he became one of the most creative and sought after sculptors in the UK and internationally. It focuses on numerous of his projects and commissions.
Stephen Broadbent was born in Wroughton in 1961 and educated in Liverpool, hence his connections to the irascible Dooley. He has worked as an artist for the past 26 years. Stephen had his first one-man exhibition in London in 1982.
Beginning with limited edition bronze sculptures and gallery work, Stephen has grown in skill and experience - rising to the challenges of increasingly larger public sculptures, and urban design projects.
Essentially an uncomplicated communicator Stephen's vibrant skill as an artist and his indomitable spirit, shine through all that he produces. By making his viewers participators, he shares with others his positive attitude to life and his increasing understanding of relationships.
In the early 1990's he established the creative design company ?Broadbent?, which continues to develop and rise to the challenge of developing creative solutions to urban landscapes, corporate and domestic interiors.
A valued speaker at national and international events and creative consultant, Stephen still manages to balance his own artistic development and work as a sculptor, with his larger project and design work, within the company.
This revealing and captivating book depicts the range of Stephen?s creations in both pictures and words.
